LEARN ABOUT COASTAL CARDIOLOGY ASSOCIATES

Established in 1982

Coastal Cardiology PLLC is a seven physician group committed to providing the highest level of cardiac care to the greater Corpus Christi Area. It is this commitment that brought us together and continues to drive our work. Fundamentally we believe that the best care for our patients is not a luxury, but something they deserve. Over the years we have carefully developed a reputation for quality service and care of our patients. As we have grown to three different locations around Corpus Christi we have maintained this level of excellence by only hiring excellent cardiologists and continuing to strive for better care every day.

During this time there have been amazing breakthroughs in cardiovascular care. Things that were impossible 15 years ago are routine today. At Coastal Cardiology PLLC we have embraced these advances by staying on the cutting edge of new procedures and drug therapies. We provide both inpatient and outpatient services, including state-of-the-art diagnostic and intervention therapies, created with the goal of restoring the patient's health.

At Coastal Cardiology PLLC of Corpus Christi we are able to provide a level of excellent care, rooted in experience and taking advantage of the latest technology that may not be available to our patients otherwise. After the diagnosis of heart disease we are committed to providing the very best level of care available.

FEES AND INSURANCE

We are participating providers in the Medicare, and Medicaid programs. We are also contracting providers for almost all HMO, PPO, POS and Fee-For-Service Plans. We are members of both Physicians Hospital Organization (PHO) which contract with insurance companies throughout the area.

Fees for medical services at our office will be due and payable at the time of your visits. By asking you to do this we can cut down the cost of billing and bookkeeping; and hopefully, keep your medical fees down. Our office, of course, will assist you when requested in helping you to collect your entitled reimbursement to the best of their ability.

Our billing office will file all claims to third party contractors after you meet your co-pay and deductible. Should you have any questions concerning your account, please call our billing office number at (361) 887-2970.

EMERGENCIES

Emergency calls can be avoided with foresight. Treatment of a condition before it becomes an emergency is the surest way to better health and few hospitalizations.

It is always best to call your regular physician before going to the Emergency Room, since many hospital visits can be avoided. If you are unsure of whether you have an emergency please call your regular physician to help you determine this. If you are unable to reach your regular physician during a cardiac emergency, you may reach us or our covering physician by calling the office. If your situation does not allow time for a return phone call from the physician please go to the nearest hospital Emergency Room where a 24 hour-a-day Emergency Room Physician can evaluate you quickly and determine the stability of your situation.

PRESCRIPTION REFILLS

Medical treatment of heart conditions may require one or several medications. Often the heart patient is on other medication that is not concerned primarily with the heart.

After 12 months the patient should be seen by a physician to insure that no adjustment in therapy is needed before refills. Because of problems with multiple drug regimens, it is best for a single physician, usually your personal physician, to know and refill all of the medications you are taking.

Refills on medications that we have personally prescribed for you can be handled through our office during regular working hours if you are unable to reach your personal physician.
In order to expedite your prescription refill request, please allow one week for authorization. Other refills will be made only on an emergency basis during office hours. No refills will be authorized after hours or on weekends.

OFFICE HOURS AND APPOINTMENTS

We see patients in the office who have either been referred by a personal physician or who have been seen previously in the hospital. Our office staff is available from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. We see patients by appointment only from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

We ask that all HMO patients be responsible for obtaining their Primary Care Physician (PCP) referral forms prior to scheduling an appointment. We make every effort to honor all time commitments and request that you extend the same courtesy to us. On occasion, emergencies can cause problems, and whenever possible, you will be fully informed if there will be any delays because of this.
